Born in '67, the year The Stooges ignited punk rock, my worldview was forged in the grit of the 70s and 80s. Coming of age when skateboarding and BMX were considered public nuisances, not lifestyle brands and I wore my rebel and punk rock badges proudly (I still do!).Sourcing my energy from the empty pools and BMX tracks of my youth, to desert dirt bikes of my young adulthood, and eventually on to bare-knuckle Sportsters and V-Twin baggers. I still carry that same spirit while approaching my 60s.Today, as a disabled Combat Veteran (11B), I manage the heavy hits of service with as much dignity as possible. Pushing through my days with the intensity of my youth isn't always easy, as I face significant tactical disadvantages: Severe memory loss and difficulty creating new memories is one of many. The idea behind PRCL is a last resort version of a "Session Saver" and most definitely a life saver. This isn't just a hobby to me, it's a rigorous motivational discipline designed to help regain control over my life. Working with doctors to help free myself of my usual heavily medicated state in an effort to get outside and live again."Project RC Life."I've created a strict system of physical checklists and standardized electronics to help bypass my challenging memory deficits. Forming a "scaffold system" to help handle the technical details prevalent in the Radio Control hobby, will not only help my memory but allow me to focus entirely on driving. My "Forever Crew" consists of eleven vehicles anchored by Arrma, Axial, and Losi platforms, all standardized on Spektrum electronics. I'll never sell or replace the vehicles and will be upgrading them all for maximum durability and resilience. I selected specific vehicles for their varied drive styles, and by using all Spektrum electronics and smart batteries, I've minimized my cognitive burden.I've spent months architecting a maintenance plan to keep these vehicles running indefinitely. I ordered the fleet, but I haven't opened a single box yet. Execution waits for the system. It may take me twenty times longer than the average person to complete a task, but the protocol ensures I get it done with efficiency and zero burnout.Ultimately while out on day road trips with the support of my wife of 26 years and our three French Bulldogs, these high-speed photo journaling sessions, will induce the flow state I need to shut down hyper-vigilance and silence the noise. I'll live again.🛠 Building the Forever Crew: A Tactical Approach to RC Therapy 🛠This is a story about fighting back against disability, while using Arrma, Axial, and Losi vehicles alongside Spektrum electronics as RC Therapy.
